From the seed pods of a south asian tree, Shikakai has been used in India for centuries as a gentle conditioning agent for both skin, hair and scalp. The bark contains high levels of saponins, natural foaming agents that are found in several oftheir plant species. Shikakai is effective in combating dandruff and is extremely gentle, working to not overly strip hair of its natural oils. On the skin, maintains a natural pH.
